  French Doors

French doors add a stylish look to any home and are often the popular choice among people who are looking for ways to bring more natural light into their homes.

Traditional French doors are typically made from natural wood and always include single of dual glazed full length glass or smaller unites of glass that are divided by grids or mullions. Since French doors provide a minimal amount of privacy, their purpose is primarily decorative in nature. The traditional look is a divided lite French door.

Dual glaze, Low-E glass is usually the choice for exterior French doors to provide improved insulation while interior French doors require only a single glaze glass. In both cases, and as an industry standard, glass in French doors is tempered.

There are many reasons to consider including French doors in a house. When used as patio doors, French doors provide view to the exterior environment while enabling the penetration of natural light into the house. When used as interior doors, French doors help give rooms a cheerful, airy look while providing a visual bridge between two adjacent living areas. French doors are slightly more expensive than other types of doors, but they are often considered to be a wise investment.  Often associated with an “upscale” appearance, French doors typically increase the home value or its curb appeal.

French doors are available from natural wood, aluminum-clad, fiberglass and aluminum.
